An ongoing collaboration with a Portland based writer.

The Plan

Writer, actress, and world traveler Kellie Holway wanted to share her travel stories in more places than just her online blog. Inspired by the long tradition of self-published ’zines, we decided to bring her work into print as a reflection of her journeys. Staying true to the ’zine ethos, each issue is available for $2 and a SASE (contact me if you're interested in a copy). We also placed copies around town in spots like the Independent Publishing Resource Center and the Multnomah County Library’s ’Zine Collection.

Page Layout

Each issue features Kellie’s writing, which I use as a starting point for the design. The layouts combine photos, sketches, and collages — the kind of vibe you’d find in a personal travel journal.
